Section 1 - Make 巧qiăo 果guǒ
Ms. Rui-Nian is teaching us how to make 巧qiăo 果guǒ . Ms. Connie enjoys making 巧qiăo 果guǒ with us. 開kāi 心xīn ! Happy!!
Students can always call me Bonnie 老lăo 師shī. My grandparents were from Shanghai and Tianjin in China. I am the third generation who was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. I came to the United States in 2004. This is my third year teaching Chinese at the Chinese Community Center.
I hold a B.A. degree in English literature and completed my M.A. in TESOL from the New York University. My experience in learning and teaching English inspires me to become a Chinese teacher, for I know the similarities and differences between the two languages from both linguistic and cultural aspects. Trust me! I can always make Chinese learning “quick, interesting, and alive.”
It is my pleasure to introduce to you and your children about my native language and culture here in Houston. I will try my best to make your children’s summer very “oriental”.
Chinese-in-Action camp is a Chinese language and culture immersion program for youths to learn about Chinese and China. The curriculum is specially designed for youths from non-Chinese speaking families to experience Chinese culture and acquire basic communication skills.
