We are making 燈dēng 籠lóng (lantern).
We use 紅hóng 包bāo to make lanterns.Just like American kids celebrate Christmas by receiving gifts from their parents, kids in China receive 紅hóng 包bāo (red envelope) from their parents during the Chinese New Year. Chinese parents put money in the 紅hóng 包bāo because they believe the 紅hóng 包bāo can bring good luck and wealth to the family.
